Anna, bless her little heart, is a very quirky kid and for whatever reason, she will not wear her hair in a ponytail. It's always getting in her face when she plays soccer and it makes her coach nuts! They finally agreed that as long as she keeps it out of her face with a headband then she doesn't have to put it in a ponytail. Sounds easy enough, but nothing is ever easy with Anna. We must have gone thru 6 different types of headbands before we found one that was agreeable to both Anna and Coach Freddy. (The whole situation about drove me over the edge!). The good news is that Anna will wear the headband but... she doesn't like it tucked underneath her hair so she wears it on top which makes her like a lot like a European male soccer player. Check out the uncanny likeness between Anna and Sergio Ramos below.

Nothing But Cheese!
Kayla is really small for her age, but don't let her size fool you. She is a dynamo on the soccer field and although she's only 11, she plays in a U13 division with her sister. This weekend at their soccer tournament they played U14 and needless to say, most of the girls outweighed Kayla by at least 75 pounds. Competitive soccer can be pretty physical and during a play Kayla caught an elbow to the eye. She wasn't hurt, but the ref called a foul on the bigger girl. Apparently, a mom on the other sideline didn't agree with the call and yelled, "Hey Ref...Our girl is 5 foot and the other girl is cheese!'' Kayla thought this was hysterical! Here is the story in her own words.
"Cheese....how's she gonna call me cheese. Is that the best she's got? I mean come on. What kind of cheese am I supposed to be? White cheese, yellow cheese, swiss cheese? Does she think I'm stinky cheese? Shredded cheese? Moldy cheese? Seriously lady...come up with a better line for a short girl than cheese."
Now we just call her Nacho!
I guess the moral of this story is...if you want to insult a short girl....come up with something better than cheese!
Back to the Blog!
Sometimes life gets in the way of the things that you really love doing. Blogging is one of those things for me. So....I decided that I'm going to make time to blog at least once a week. I do this much to the chagrin of my children who are often the subjects of my blog! Today I was excited to find that I have a new friend at work that also likes to blog. I will post a link to her blog on here so you can enjoy it as much as I do. So blogging world...I'm back. Brace yourselves.
